Road Trip Dividing Line

James White, February 13, 2023February 13, 2023, Church Fathers, Musings, Personal, Provisionism, Road Trip, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line, Thomism Got started a little late so we didn’t go a full hour but covered some “Tweet theology,” including responding to Leighton Flowers and looking at some Thomas stuff. Also reported on the last few nights in Opelousas (which I mispronounced at the start!), what’s coming up the rest of the week, and provided a tribute to Jeremy Hasty, a dear brother who has been so supportive of our work for years. Enjoy!

Travel Project Announcement, “What is Marriage?” Debate Review

James White, February 9, 2023February 9, 2023, Christian Worldview, Debate, Homosexuality, Personal, Post-Evangelicalism, Road Trip, Speaking Engagements, The Dividing Line We did another Road Trip DL today from Lafayette, Louisiana where I will be speaking for the weekend. Started off with a run down on a major project we are undertaking during this, our 40th Anniversary year. We are hoping to trade in our current fifth wheel unit for one that will allow us to trade some of my sleeping comfort for a fully functional webcasting and debating studio! The Dividing Line has become central as our means of communication and teaching, literally globally, so being able to do it better and expand the interviews and debates we can do would be a great addition to our work. You can go here to the drop down menu if you are led to help us with this project. Then I did a review of last night’s debate with Keith Giles on “What is Marriage,” and responded to his claims about Jewish sources and the supposed “six genders,” including discussion of the Mishnah, Gemara, Talmud, etc.

Road Trip Dividing Line: New Plans, Greear on the Church’s Failure, Fesko against Van Til, Preview of Radio Free Geneva

James White, February 6, 2023February 6, 2023, Debate, General Apologetics, Homosexuality, Personal, Post-Evangelicalism, Radio Free Geneva, Reformed Apologetics, Reformed Baptist Issues, Road Trip, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line, Thomism We are back on the road! Came to you live from somewhere in the wilds of Texas today, will be in Houston tomorrow with the “What is Marriage?” debate on Wednesday. Talked about some new plans we have for the travel portion of the ministry, then looked at JD Greear’s comments on the failure of the church to be a “safe place” for teenagers to “come out.” Looked briefly at some comments from Dr. Fesko against Dr. Van Til that will not age well, and then listened to the first question in a panel Q&A from 2015 where fundamentalist pastors pretend to answer questions about Calvinism. The full video will make a great Radio Free Geneva soon!

Open Zoom Calls on the Dividing Line

Took some great Zoom calls today discussing the vine and the branches in John 15, MBTS, the Great Tradition, and Thomas (took a long time on this one), and then the Trinity, the Cross, “inseparable operations,” etc. Let’s just say certain quarters will be talking after this program! Last show in studio for a while: starting next week a mixture of Road Trip DLs and Driving Lines!

No EFS, Predicate Adjectives and Scripture, the God Who Works All Things

Three topics today: first, a clear, unambiguous statement (again) that I do not, and never have, held to any form of EFS/ERAS theology, and if anyone tells you otherwise, they don’t know what they are talking about. Second, is it “every Scripture is God-breathed” or “every God-breathed Scripture is profitable”? And why does it matter? And third, are present tense finite verbs in Romans 8:28 and Ephesians 1:11 opposed to Reformed theology? Get a deep seat!

Views on Homosexuality, Interaction with Lindsay on Gnosticism

James White, January 26, 2023January 26, 2023, Atheism, Christian Worldview, Church History, Debate, General Apologetics, Homosexuality, Post-Evangelicalism, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line Started off with Pope Francis’ comments on homosexuality and the distinction of sin/crime, then looked at a progressivist on Twitter and his explanation of how he became “affirming.” Looked at a thread documenting comments Andy Stanley made to a group of pastors in 2019, and then finished up with a review of my brief discussion with James Lindsay on his argument with the Wolfes on the issue of Adam and the concept of gnosticism. 75 minutes today.
