Dr Jereth Kok, a Melbourne-based family GP, was indefinitely suspended in August 2019 for expressing sincerely-held Christian beliefs deemed ‘wrongthink’ by the Medical Board of Australia. Barred from seeing his patients for almost two and a half years, Dr Kok’s exile began after an anonymous complaint about his use of social media.
The Daily Declaration can now reveal screenshots of Dr Kok’s latest ‘crimes’ compiled by AHPRA. A collection of new posts (some of which appear below) will form part of the agency’s case against him later this year when they could argue for a permanent ban to end his 15-year medical career.
All bar one of the Facebook posts that have been added to Dr Kok’s rap sheet had specifically been shared by him in a non-public visibility mode, meaning that only a limited audience could view them on the platform.
“An Excellent Doctor” With a Clear Record
Addressing topics such as abortion, transgender ideology and Victoria’s ‘conversion therapy’ ban, Dr Kok’s recent thoughtcrimes were posted to social media after his suspension. It therefore appears likely that AHPRA will seek to indict Dr Kok for views he expressed while no longer serving the community as a doctor.
The Daily Declaration can confirm that Dr Kok has not paid any registration fees or been issued with any registration documents in the period during which he shared the new posts in question.
John Steenhof, who will be defending Dr Kok, told the Daily Declaration that “the impact of AHPRA’s investigation on Jereth and his family, including the loss of livelihood, has been profound.” Steenhof also clarified that there is nothing else against Dr Kok’s name to disqualify him from practice:

There has never been a complaint against Jereth about his patient care. By all accounts, Jereth was and would continue to be an excellent doctor. The medical profession is poorer for his absence, particularly at a time when there is a critical shortage of practicing doctors in Victoria.

Earlier this month, a 30-year-old Italian researcher studying at New York’s Columbia University was brutally murdered by a member of a notorious African-American gang.
Vicious Attacks
Davide Giri, a visiting scholar, was stabbed to death in an Upper Manhattan park by Vincent Pinkney, a reputed gang member of the group “Everybody Killa” who had a decade-long rap sheet including at least 11 arrests.
Records show that Pinkney has enjoyed light sentences despite his involvement in multiple violent crimes stretching back to 2012. At the time of his arrest, he was already a wanted suspect in a previous assault.
Giri’s stabbing murder in New York was chillingly captured on surveillance video. It was the first part of a 20-minute rampage in which Pinkney wounded another Italian man and then attempted to attack a couple in nearby Central Park.
Complete Censorship
In a long-repeating pattern that was most notoriously displayed after the recent Waukesha massacre, Pinkney’s ethnicity, gang connections and criminal history were buried by corporate outlets.
The New York Times dedicated some 900 words to the story, but chose to run it on page 16 and provided only Pinkney’s name and age, despite the public availability of all other relevant information about him.
Italy’s leading newspaper, the centrist Corriere della Sera, was seething in its criticism of the New York Times last week.

Jesus is coming back — not to whisk us away to some cloudy realm, but to bring heaven to earth, and to make the reign and rule of God permanent on this planet.

There is a popular image of heaven as a place of celestial bliss — with clouds, angels, harps and chubby babies. But that’s not how the Bible depicts heaven at all. In Scripture, heaven is actually described as a new earth. Revelation in particular paints a picture of heaven that includes a city, a river, trees, feasting, fellowship and joy. It all sounds very earthy.
The disciples seem to have had the same kind of picture. In particular, they expected the Messiah to be a political ruler; a king who reigns in the physical land of Israel. In fact, one of the reasons many Jews of the time rejected Jesus is because He just didn’t fit that description.
It is of course true that Jesus declared, “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). As His ministry continued, it became increasingly clear that Jesus had not come with the intention of setting up a political dominion in this outpost of the Roman Empire. This serves as a reminder to us today that while political engagement is important for the Christian, it is not the means by which God will usher in His kingdom — not in the present age, at least.
Nevertheless, the disciples and other first-century Jews were not altogether wrong in expecting a political ruler. Israel’s prophets had long promised that God would raise up a redeemer from the line of David who would bring physical deliverance from their Gentile enemies, restore the Jewish temple, and reestablish the kingdom rule of David. If you doubt this, take a look at Isaiah 9:6-7; Isaiah 11:1-2, and Jeremiah 23:5.
First-century Jews had not misinterpreted these Scriptures — but they had missed other ones. Their eyes were shut to the fact that the Messiah would first come as a suffering servant.
