Do Prophets and Apostles Exist in the Church Today?
Episode 403 | Dr. Michael Horton and Adriel Sanchez answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Key questions answered in today’s show: 1. In Genesis 1:26 says that Adam was to “have dominion over creation.” How does this relate to stewardship of creation? Does this verse give us reason to be concerned about things like pollution and the possibility of climate change? 2. My dad became a Jehovah witness what is the best way to deal with this? 3. Why do many Christian people today not believe in prophets and apostles when Ephesians 4 seems to teach that these things will remain until the unity of the faith? And this hasn’t happened today with all the doctrinal division in the church. 4. I’m looking for a Bible based church and I noticed that they each use a different translation. Which is the best? And is there a denomination that teaches the Bible verse by verse? 5. Hi Mike and Adriel I have a question about Mark 4:12 where Jesus seems to suggest that he was teaching in parables so that people would not understand. I thought Jesus taught in parables because parables made it easier to understand his point. Thanks. How Can Jesus Belong to the Royal Line of David if Mary Did Not?
Episode 479 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Key questions answered in today’s show: 1. I have heard some Christians claim that Acts 16:6 proves that God does not want to save everybody since Paul was forbidden to speak in Asia. Yet Paul and those with him were not the only evangelists. Sometimes it seems like the church in the US acts like the rest of the world doesn’t exist, and I’m wondering if this tendency can be traced even to how we read the Bible? 2. How can Stephen call the Jews stiff-necked people if it is God that changed his heart? 3. I know someone who is believing and accepting as truth this book entitled “The Sacred Mushroom and The Cross.” I wonder if you could steer me in a good direction in order to properly address this book and its contents with knowledge and grace. 4. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the promised seed of the woman, the seed of Abraham, to whom belongs the everlasting throne promised to David. A lot of work went into preserving that seed, but then in Matthew 1, we are told that Jesus was born to the Virgin Mary, even though it was Joseph who was connected to the royal line of David.
