John speaks this week to Joel Tiegreen. Joel served as a missionary to Turkey for several years until he received a terminal diagnosis of cancer. John talks to Joel about his suffering and the Lord’s kindness in it. Joel served for five years as a missionary to Turkey. He fully expected to die in that foreign land presenting people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

But following a devastating diagnosis of terminal cancer, he came back to America for treatment. In this season, God has not abandoned Joel, his wife, or their five children. God has proved faithful and true through it all.

For this special season of uncertainty, Jeremy Walker, pastor of Maidenbower Baptist Church in Crawley, England, began making short devotions to warm our hearts to Christ and remind of the certainty of the sovereignty of God. Today’s devotion is from Proverbs 15:1-2.
