The letter of 1 Peter contains many practical implementations of the brief exhortation in verse 16 to “be holy as the Lord is holy.”
In verses 22-25, Peter reminds us that our blessed regeneration is of an everlasting, imperishable seed. Because this world is temporary, and there really is an eternity, we can face anything with God’s help and power.
Peter quotes the Old Testament chapter of Isaiah 40 and we are reminded that we are to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

The 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith or LBCF is a good document that outlines the truths held by reformed baptists for the last 330 years!

My hope is to give you some good tips as to how to study such a document so you can benefit from the work that many faithful men of God put into writing it.

Psalm 101 gives us a glimpse in the heart of David. He makes his mind up about some things he will do and some others that he won’t. These can serve as some basic guidelines for us too as we seek to walk in the ways of The Lord.

Godcast with Josh Fritz 84: Josh provides some updates to the fines and closures being levied against Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA and North Valley Baptist Church in Santa Clara, CA. An article by Protestia (see below), updates that NVBC, has been forced with fines exceeding $100,000 for holding indoor services, to hold outdoor services as of this past Sunday, September 13, 2020. Josh however has a different take on this whole spectacle the government is making here, and cites readings from Scripture that should encourage GCC, and NVBC. Both churches were taking similar approaches, one is continuing to be resolute.

Peter mentions an inexpressible or unspeakable joy that will be experienced by believers everywhere, even in the midst of fiery trials. These fiery trials are meant for the good of God’s people and are to be rejoiced in by His people.
Christians should be challenged to see their difficulties in a different light after hearing what Peter has to say about being put to the fire.
