What is the difference between John’s baptism and Jesus Christ’s baptism? Are these really two different baptisms? Does John’s baptism confer to us the benefits of Christ? How Can Jesus Belong to the Royal Line of David if Mary Did Not?

Episode 479 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Key questions answered in today’s show: 1. I have heard some Christians claim that Acts 16:6 proves that God does not want to save everybody since Paul was forbidden to speak in Asia. Yet Paul and those with him were not the only evangelists. Sometimes it seems like the church in the US acts like the rest of the world doesn’t exist, and I’m wondering if this tendency can be traced even to how we read the Bible?  2. How can Stephen call the Jews stiff-necked people if it is God that changed his heart? 3. I know someone who is believing and accepting as truth this book entitled “The Sacred Mushroom and The Cross.” I wonder if you could steer me in a good direction in order to properly address this book and its contents with knowledge and grace. 4. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the promised seed of the woman, the seed of Abraham, to whom belongs the everlasting throne promised to David. A lot of work went into preserving that seed, but then in Matthew 1, we are told that Jesus was born to the Virgin Mary, even though it was Joseph who was connected to the royal line of David. Is It Wrong To Want God To Be Here Physically?

Episode 478 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Key questions answered in today’s show: 1. Should people or pastors call themselves prophets or “man of God” today? If so, what does it mean to not touch the anointed ones and do prophets no harm? 2. In Genesis, in the Hebrew language, the creator of the universe is referred to in the plural form of Elohim. If God is triune, and one within the Trinity, why does the Hebrew word, Elohim, refer to the plural gods? 3. Is it okay to wish God was here physically with us even though I know it won’t happen? I was told this is idolatry, which makes me so sad because often I am pushed away, judged, or ignored because I’m autistic. None of the promises God made about church come true for me. Sometimes I wish I could touch, hug, hold, or smell God as my loving, affectionate Father. I especially long for this now that people are difficult to see with the Coronavirus restrictions. I wonder how orphans long for these basic needs but can’t get them. Do they think about God in the same way? 4. When will churches across the United States of America open to full capacity? So that way we can go back to what we used to do: shaking hands, hugging one another, that would be great. That way, all of us believers could attend that very first church service since March. Is It a Sin to Listen to Secular Music?

Episode 477 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Key questions answered in today’s show: 1. I know God accepts me in Jesus but the way I walk does not reflect this. I tend to perform, not for God, but to meet my own standards. I feel trapped, as my pride gets in the way of enjoying God’s grace. Even though I know this issue, I still feel trapped. What can I do? 2. I had a question on predestination. I was wondering if God created time, space, and matter, would it be more that he is not confined in the time, and he knows who is going to be saved, rather than he chose who is going to be saved? 3. was the generation that died in the wilderness saved? Did they put the blood on the doorposts only to die in the wilderness?  4. I am a Christian, and I listen to country music. Is that being of the world? Am I doing something wrong? Why Did Jesus Say “You are gods” to Humans?

Episode 476 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Key questions answered in today’s show: 1. What if I have been the prodigal son, but multiple times? In Hebrews, it sounds like if you fall away, you can’t be renewed to repentance. But Israel always seems to be falling away and returning to God. I guess I just feel the need to exhaustively make sure that I haven’t disqualified myself.   2. In Leviticus 20, there is a long list of sexual sin. Why does God say that they should die? That’s pretty harsh. Why would that not apply in today’s world? 3. What did Jesus mean that we are gods? Isn’t that polytheism or something? Is a part of me divine? 4. This is Jim, in Zechariah 11:10 when it says that he revoked or broke the covenant, what exactly does that mean?   Request our latest special offers here or call 1-833-THE-CORE (833-843-2673) to request them by phone.

Did God or Satan Take the Life of My Son?

Episode 475 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Key questions answered in today’s show: 1. I’ve been doubting my salvation. I started reading the bible back in the 90s. Back in those days, I was addicted to cocaine, marijuana, porn, smoking and drinking. About 15 years ago I quit drugs, and about two years ago I quit smoking. I’m only about 560 days sober. My question is, am I saved? I know that my life changed, and I’m growing, but I doubt my salvation. So anything you have to say, thank you so much.  2. Almost every Christian church here in South Africa dance during Sunday services. Is it biblical, or is it one of the worldly things being adopted into the church? 3. Three and a half years ago, my 15-year-old son passed away. The autopsy revealed natural causes. I’ve been having terrible PTSD. I know he [my son] is in heaven. My pastor said Satan, not God, took my son. I’m very confused. I believe God calls his children home for a reason, even if it’s early. It took me a year to get the courage to open my son’s laptop, and when I did, I saw that he was planning to commit suicide a few days after he actually died. So I believe that God actually took him before he could do that. But now I’m confused. Did Satan take him? Or did God take him to avoid that? 4. I’m John, a 12-year-old from Charleston, South Carolina. Here is my question: Would you go to hell to save two sinners?

How Do I Share the Gospel with My Gay Parent?

Episode 474 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Key questions answered in today’s show: 1. Is it a sin to skip church? 2. Before the restrictions related to the coronavirus, our church was to no longer serve the Lord’s Supper once a month on Sunday, but once a month on a Wednesday during an all-church prayer night. I struggle to understand why we would observe it on any other day than the Lord’s day. Is this an acceptable practice?  3. How would you suggest someone of the faith talking to a parent who is gay and lesbian about the Christian faith? She knows the gospel, but she will say God made her that way, that He loves her, and that she is going to heaven without having to change or deny the flesh. 4. What exactly happens when we die? What Happens When God Is Not Impressive In My Life Anymore? with Special Guest Dr. Michael Horton

Episode 473 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Key questions answered in today’s show: 1. Why do I constantly hear negative thoughts from the Enemy? I was baptized for second time last year. So much different this time because I am actually a Christian. So why do I hear these negative thoughts? Maybe it is harder now because I have the Holy Spirit. I am being told, “Take every thought captive,” but how do I do this? 2. Who are the “cloud of witnesses” mentioned in the Bible? I do not believe our loved ones in Heaven can see us on earth but some are teaching this. Please explain. 3. Hi I’m Matthew, I have a question on Matthew 6:14-15 When it says “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses”. Does this mean the forgiveness of our sins from God is conditional on whether we forgive the sins of others? Thank you! God bless. P.S. I listen to snippets of your podcasts on Instagram from Singapore, and I enjoy them very much! 4. What happens when God is not impressive anymore in your life? I need an answer for that. I mean, I don’t find anything appealing anymore about God. I’ve been a Christian for a while.

How Can God Be Just, Merciful, and Good?

Episode 472 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Key questions answered in today’s show: 1. In Matthew 27:52–53 when the saints came out of the tomb after Jesus’ resurrection. They went into the holy city and were seen by many. This would be huge! It’s the only place in written history I can find it. How do you explain that nobody else ever thought it was worth mentioning?  2. If Jesus knew that the Roman authorities would crucify him, why did he say, “My Lord, My Lord, why do you forsake me?”  3. Should our main focus in the church be the preaching of Christ from all the Scriptures? What about growing his people in faith and boldness? Do we just preach and trust the Lord to grow his people, who then go out and love and serve their neighbors and share the gospel with them? 4. How is it possible for God to be good, just, and merciful all at once? Being just means that there are laws and rules that are written and will be followed. Being merciful is negating justice. How can God embody all three? 5. 2 Samuel 23 has always baffled me. Every time I read it, I wonder why David didn’t drink the water which three of his men risked their lives to get for him. It seems ungrateful. What is God teaching us here? These verses are in a chapter about David’s mighty men. Should the focus be on them and not David’s offering to the Lord?  Resources Devoted to God: Blueprints for Sanctification by Sinclair B.
