Had to start of with a few minutes on the posthumously published book from Joseph Ratzinger. Fascinating and important stuff from the former Pope. Then we listened to some stuff from FBC Orlando, then on to Andy Stanley and homosexuals “serving” and “worshipping” in the Church. This is when we’ve been called to serve, so, we have to deal with the topics of the day.

Road Trip DL from Salt Lake City: A Little Riddle, a Little Muller
James White, April 26, 2022April 26, 2022, Debate, Misc, Pastoral Theology, Personal, Reformed Apologetics, Reformed Baptist Issues, Road Trip, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters, Thomism, TROnlyism Was on the road for six hours today but still managed to sneak a program in this afternoon, looking a bit at my discussion with Doug Wilson on “paedocommunion” (he prefers “child communion” and there is, actually, a difference), then responding to Jeffrey Riddle on an odd take on semper Reformanda, and then finishing up with a little discussion on actus purus and the relationship of biblical revelation to philosophy. Should be able to get another program in tomorrow as I have altered my travel plans to shorten the length of the drives each day. This old guy is getting a bit tired!

A Multi-Faceted Dividing Line
James White, March 16, 2023March 16, 2023, Abortion, Christian Worldview, Church Fathers, Church History, Debate, Exegesis, Homosexuality, Pastoral Theology, Personal, Post-Evangelicalism, Reformed Baptist Issues, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters, Thomism Covered a wide variety of things yet again on the program today, so a little something for everyone. Started off with the new Roman Catholic apologetics book against Scripture titled, “The Obscurity of Scripture,” and talked a bit about the obscurity not of Scripture, but of Rome itself. We also spent some time reading through Schaff’s discussion of Pope Honorius. Then we moved over to the topic of my sermon from Sunday at Apologia and considered the suffocating application of external philosophical systems when it comes to the breadth and depth of divine revelation. Talked for a while about the upcoming Saddleback appeal with the SBC, and finished off with a quick review of the incredibly childish comments of the Lt. Governor of Minnesota.
