After some chatter about DEI’s destruction of the United States (and the West in general), we finally dug into a Twitter thread posted by Dr. Mike Riccardi on kenoticism and what it is supposed to mean and how we are supposed to identify it. Ended up going 90 minutes as a result, but this one will be discussed for a long time. Another example of “but, we can’t do theology by creating our own definitions and then reading them back into Scripture.” Important stuff, and offered with full respect for and appreciation of both Master’s Seminary and Mike Riccardi.

Started off with the new Roman Catholic apologetics book against Scripture titled, “The Obscurity of Scripture,” and talked a bit about the obscurity not of Scripture, but of Rome itself. We also spent some time reading through Schaff’s discussion of Pope Honorius. Then we moved over to the topic of my sermon from Sunday at Apologia and considered the suffocating application of external philosophical systems when it comes to the breadth and depth of divine revelation. Talked for a while about the upcoming Saddleback appeal with the SBC, and finished off with a quick review of the incredibly childish comments of the Lt. Governor of Minnesota. We did a nearly two hour long program today on the issue of hermeneutics, exegesis, tradition, and the current movement in Reformed circles toward the embracing of “the Great Tradition,” “Reformed Thomism,” and “Christian Platonism.” I think this is one of the most important programs we have ever done, and I pray the Lord will bless it to your edification.
