Three topics today: first, a clear, unambiguous statement (again) that I do not, and never have, held to any form of EFS/ERAS theology, and if anyone tells you otherwise, they don’t know what they are talking about. Second, is it “every Scripture is God-breathed” or “every God-breathed Scripture is profitable”? And why does it matter? And third, are present tense finite verbs in Romans 8:28 and Ephesians 1:11 opposed to Reformed theology? Get a deep seat!

Welby, Lawson, and Christian Unity
Theology matters. The substance of what God in His infinite wisdom has revealed to His creatures is the marrow of the joy of the believer’s heart—and mind. Theology matters because theology is possible because of God’s initiative in revelation. What God reveals is, by definition, important, central, vital, life-changing, heart-enrapturing, for all in whom the Spirit dwells. And thanks be

A Jumbo Road Trip DL!
James White, July 17, 2023July 17, 2023, Debate, Exegesis, General Apologetics, Personal, Reformed Apologetics, Road Trip, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line, Unitarianism Started off today’s program talking about upcoming debates. Unfortunately, during the program itself, Chris Arnzen got word that Dr. Brownson will not be pursuing the debate on the 16th of September. However, we have another opponent lined up and will be able to give you information on that in a few days.Spent a while responding to portions of a Trent Horn video on θεόπνευστος and elements of the common Catholic Answers approach to denying sola scriptura. Then we moved to a number of tweets by Unitarians, finishing up looking at John’s use of ἐγώ εἰμι. Right at ninety minutes today! Enjoy!

Covid Tyranny, then 1 Cor 10:13, John 12:32

Then we transitioned over to the “big board” to look at two texts, 1 Corinthians 10:13 (is it a proof text for libertarian free will?) and John 12:32 (does it say that all humans, universally, and individually, are drawn to Jesus by the cross?).
